You will see Pot limit Omaha often abbreviated in poker rooms as PLO. Pot limit and no limit Omaha eight or better games can be found in most casinos and online poker rooms. No limit Omaha poker is a very rare game to find. Once you have played a game of Omaha high poker, you will understand why it is also called the game of the nuts. In any poker game, having the nuts means that you have the best possible high or low hand and that’s exactly what it will take to win a showdown playing Omaha. You will be seeing more cards in Omaha high poker so it only makes sense that cards in a players hand and the community will give each player drawing possibilities to many different types of hands. The basic difference to remember when you play Omaha as opposed to Texas holdem is that each player is dealt four cards instead of two. The betting rounds in Omaha high and layout of community cards are identical to Holdem. At the showdown, the winning hand will be the best five card hand made from exactly three of the five cards in the community and only two of his own four cards. |
