The main event of the Foxwoods Poker Classic will get underway on Friday as players put up the $10,000 entry fee into the World Poker Tour event. Preliminary events have been going on for over a week at Foxwoods. William Hill won over $100,000 in a $1,000 No-Limit Holdem event during the Foxwoods Classic. Foxwoods will also be holding a $3,000 and a $5,000 poker tournament during the classic. |

Neil Channing Wins Irish Open Tournament |

Neil Channing took home the $1.25 million dollar first place prize in the Irish Poker Open. The Irish Open poker tournament had some of the best players from the UK in addition to a few from the United States. Channing defeated numerous other players in the Irish Open including runner-up Donal Nortan who took home $647,000 for his second place finish. Thomas Dunwoodie finished third, Tim Blake 4th, Kai Danilo Paulsen, 5th, Edwin Tournier sixth, Carsten Joh 7th, Erik Larcheveque 8th and John Keown 9th.

Brandon Cantu Wins WPT Bay 101 Tournament |

Brandon Cantu took home the $1 Million dollar first place prize by winning the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Stars tournament in San Jose, California. Cantu started the final table of the WPT Bay 101 with a big chip lead and was never really threatened. Steve Sung finished second and took home over a half million. Professional poker player Jennifer Harman finished third and won $330,000.

Huck Seed finally broke through and won a major poker tournament, winning the 2008 Heads-Up Canadian Open Poker Championships in Calgary, Alberta. The 2008 Heads-Up Canadian Open Poker Championships was held at The Deerfoot Inn and Casino.
He outlasted "Yukon" Brad Booth in a best of three match that lasted over five hours.
